Wild orangutans are fighting for survival as their forest homes disappear. With less food, they’re hungry and desperate, forcing them to search for food in human areas. Only too often, these encounters end in tragedy, with orangutans injured or even killed in violent conflicts.
With human-orangutan conflict so high, our rescue centre is experiencing a surge in orangutans needing help. As more orangutans arrive, the demands on our resources grow. More expert medical care is needed, and more mouths need to be fed.
