Siti is in great health and making solid progress with her forest skills.

However, February brought an unexpected challenge—her close companion, Sudin, fell seriously ill and had to be evacuated to Jambi for intensive care. What first appeared to be a seasonal flu turned out to be Strongyloides Hyperinfection Syndrome, a severe and life-threatening condition caused by an aggressive worm infection.
Thankfully, after intensive treatment and monitoring, Sudin’s condition has stabilised. He still needs time to fully recover before returning to Jungle School and reuniting with Siti. In the meantime, Siti has been keeping herself busy, spending several nights in the forest and focusing on her foraging skills. With the fruiting season in full swing, she’s been feasting on tapus fruit, her current favourite.
Though she clearly senses Sudin’s absence—often sitting quietly in the canopy—Siti has been socialising more with other orangutans, including Citrawan, Canur, Rosi, Shielda, Violet, Vanilla, and an unidentified male. She frequently forages alongside them and has shown great independence by consistently building new nests each night when she stays in the forest.
We’re hopeful that Sudin will soon be well enough to return, and the two can be reunited. Until then, Siti continues to thrive, and it’s all thanks to your support.
